Things to Know Before Purchasing

The unique character of each dish is created by features not found in mass-produced items, such as spots, fading, uneven glaze, shading, and shape warping. Handmade pottery is charming in that it is not perfectly uniform, with pinholes, crazing, or distortions. Each piece is slightly different in color, size, and shape, and no two pieces are exactly alike. These are also the unique characteristics of handmade pottery, so enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime encounter. [Individual Differences] Because each piece is handmade, there will be individual differences in shape, size, thickness, etc. [Color Variations/Firing Variations] Since each piece is carefully hand-painted, slight variations in the design and color shading may be present. During firing, temperatures vary depending on the location of the kiln, resulting in uneven firing.
[Other Notes] Once products have passed inspection by the kiln or artist, they are inspected again before being delivered to customers.

Arita ware

Arita ware is porcelain produced in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, and its surrounding areas. It is said to be the first porcelain made in Japan, and has been widely enjoyed as tableware and art for over 400 years. While Arita ware is often associated with translucent white porcelain and painted designs, there are also many dishes made with vibrant glazes, adding a rich variety of color to your dining table.
