| Maintenance Recommendations from the Pottery Maker | ・When using for the first time, lightly wash with detergent and use as is. Because it is absorbent, it may discolor to gray or develop spots when immersed in water. However, please rest assured that it will return to its original state once it is completely dry. ・When serving oily or dark liquids, quickly soak it in water or hot water to moisten it before use to prevent stains. |

Started making pottery at Furutani Seitosho in 2004
Specially crafted "Kohiki White Dishware" We work every day to create "Kohiki White Dishware" that enhances any dish and exudes elegance and warmth. We also pay particular attention to the clay we use, using our own clay for pottery wheel and tatara molding. The red clay is molded into the clay, which is then coated with white decorative mud, glazed, and fired. To ensure comfortable use and microwave-safety, no chemicals or liquid ceramic coatings are used after firing. Instead, we fire our tableware twice, a process known as "honyaki," to make it even more durable and of a quality that can be used safely and with confidence in everyday life.
Our Thoughts on Tableware "The most important time in daily life" It's the time when families gather together to eat meals and relax over tea or coffee. We strive to create tableware that gently complements people's lives and enriches those moments. "Konohiki no Shiro" is a gentle, expressive white. It is a simple white that enhances any dish and can be used every day. Furthermore, the gentle, rustic pottery flavor that peeks out from beneath the surface of the tableware adds a great deal of depth to the piece.
