These Echizen lacquer chopsticks are made with multiple coats of lacquer. 
Negoro lacquer is a technique in which vermilion lacquer is applied over black lacquer, and some areas are ground away to reveal the black base. The contrast between black and deep red adds an elegant accent. 
These chopsticks have an elegant appearance and pair well with tableware by artists and traditional Japanese tableware. They also complement modern dining tables, featuring a variety of cuisines, including Japanese, Western, Chinese, and ethnic styles.
