A tasteful appearance

This soup bowl features adorable little ears. The contrast between the white decorative clay and the brown glaze is striking. The rough surface of the bowl exudes a gentle, rustic pottery flavor. The brown glaze's color is rich and varied, ranging from dark to light. The dotted iron powder and crazing patterns characteristic of powder-glazed pottery add a touch of character.

Enjoy a generous portion

Maintenance Recommendations from the Pottery Maker ・Soaking the vessel in hot or cold water before each use will help prevent tea stains and other stains.
・Due to the characteristics of the material, the surface may be rough, or small protrusions may appear due to the expansion of stones contained in the clay. If this bothers you, polish it with waterproof sandpaper before use.
Product Characteristics/
Handling Precautions
・When immersed in water, brown spots may appear, and the dark color of the base may become visible until it is completely dry. However, this is a characteristic of ceramics and there is no need to worry.
・Because ceramics are absorbent, leaving them submerged in water can cause mold, stains, and odors. After use, wash off any dirt as soon as possible with dish soap, rinse thoroughly, and dry to ensure long-lasting use.
・Because each piece is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, size, and thickness.
- Pinholes may be present, and patterns and colors may vary.
- Recommended for those who appreciate the warm texture of handmade items, each with its own unique character.
- Crazing (cracks in the surface glaze) may occur during use, but this is not a crack or damage and does not affect use.
- Prices may be revised or adjusted by the artist or kiln.

Things to Know Before Purchasing

The unique character of each piece of pottery is created by features not found in mass-produced items, such as spots, fading, uneven glaze, shading, and shape distortion. Handmade pottery is not perfectly shaped, but rather has pinholes, crazing, distortion, and other imperfections. Each piece is slightly different in color, size, and shape, and no two pieces are exactly alike. This is the charm of handmade pottery. These are also the unique characteristics of handmade pottery, so enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime encounter. [Individual Differences] Since each piece is handmade, there may be individual differences in shape, size, thickness, etc. [Color Variations/Baking Variations] Since the glaze is applied by hand, the application may not be uniform. When firing, temperatures vary depending on where in the kiln they are fired, resulting in uneven firing. [Other Notes]

〇 Due to the nature of lacquered items, peeling of the decorative clay may occur with use, as shown in the photo.
〇Products that have passed inspection by the pottery manufacturer or artist are inspected again before being delivered to customers.
