The vermilion lines, blue, and brown designs stand out against the gentle yellowish-brown color. The coarse clay that reveals pebbles and the iron powder that can be seen here and there are unique to Shigaraki ware. With its rough texture, you can feel the warmth of the soil itself. Please enjoy the unique texture.

After pouring some chilled sake, enjoy some pickled squid as a snack. In autumn, how about a set of salt-grilled swordfish and hot sake?

Shigaraki ware
This ceramic is produced around Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, and is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan. The rustic texture of the earth is appealing, making full use of the richness of nature. Because they use strong china clay, they are good at making large pottery like raccoon dog ornaments.
Kiln owner's recommendation for maintenance
-After use, wash the pot as soon as possible, dry it thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Insufficient drying may cause mold and odor.
