Carefully carved traces of handiwork

This is a Kohiki soba choko with a pattern carved out one by one using a plane. The surface has a glossy texture and is smooth and comfortable to the touch. Depending on how well the glaze is applied, a rough texture appears in some places, giving you a sense of warmth unique to pottery.  The rich expression of the parts with a slight reddish tinge and the iron points that appear here and there is also attractive. The moderate weight fits comfortably in your hand, and just holding it makes you feel cheerful.

A versatile cup that can be used in a variety of ways

A simple shape that can be used for any purpose, it is an excellent item that expands the range of your dining table. It's perfect for somen and soba noodles, as well as coffee, tea, or snacks during a break . It would also be great to serve potage soup with bread.  It can also be used as a dessert cup by filling it with fruit or yogurt. Regardless of the purpose, it is a reliable piece of  pottery that you will find yourself picking up.

Kiln manufacturer's recommended maintenance ・Kohiki is water absorbent and does not leave stains. Due to its easy-to-wear nature, we recommend that you seal it before use. Most water stains disappear when dry, but if used without sealing, oil stains and stains from dark colors such as soy sauce and coffee tend to remain.
・After using the utensils, wash them as soon as possible and dry them thoroughly. Insufficient drying may cause mold and odors.
- For stains such as tea stains, please use commercially available bleach and rinse thoroughly.
Product characteristics/

・Penetration (cracks in the surface glaze) may occur during the firing process, but this is not a crack or breakage, so there is no problem with use.

Things you should know before purchasing

What creates the expression of a pottery are spots, scratches, unevenness in the glaze, shading, and bending of the shape that cannot be seen in mass-produced products.
The charm of handmade pottery is that it may have pinholes, intrusions, distortions, etc., and is not perfectly arranged, but each one is slightly different in color, size, and shape, and no two are exactly the same. Please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime encounter as these are the unique characteristics of handmade pottery. [Individual differences] Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, and thickness. [Uneven color/uneven baking] Because the glaze is applied by hand, it may not be applied evenly, resulting in uneven coloring. During firing, the temperature varies depending on the location of the kiln, resulting in uneven firing. [Other notes]
〇Products that have passed inspection by the pottery and artist are inspected again and delivered to the customer.
