The two-color arabesque pattern stands out against the slightly creamy white background, and just looking at it will lift your spirits. While yachimun pottery is often perceived as being heavy and substantial, Toushingama's pottery is characterized by being neither too heavy nor too thick.The height of the base and the raised rim are exquisite, making it feel natural in your hand. For noodles and rice bowls
"Makai" means bowl in Okinawan. As the name "soba makai" suggests, this is perfect for serving noodles.

Things to Know Before Purchasing
Yachimun is Okinawan pottery that exudes a warmth and sense of the generous culture of Okinawa. Yachimun pottery often exhibits uneven glaze application, cracks called crazing, pools of glaze from multiple coats, irregularities, and pinholes. Tsuboya Ware Toshin Kiln
After training at Ikutoen in Tsuboya, Masakazu Soma established the kiln in Nakama, Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture, as its owner in 1975.
In 1978, the kiln moved to Zakimi, Yomitan Village. It continues to operate to this day.
While preserving the traditional techniques of Tsuboya ware, the company continues to create new works, such as unique red-glazed designs, blue-and-white designs, fish patterns, and ichin designs, under the motto of "always creating something new."
