Collaboration with cooking expert Mizuki

This is a shallow bowl made with Mizuki, who is popular for her cooking recipes. Mr. Mizuki has always been a fan of Furuya Seisho's pottery. Among these, the ``Fuchiara Yokobori'' vessels are particularly easy to use. The colored parts are painted with rough clay and carved with a comb. The size and shape were born from Mizuki's suggestion, ``I want a shallow bowl that's not too big and can be used for everything from boiling to bowls!'' It has an appearance that makes you want to use it for a long time as a daily use pottery.

Helpful items that will make any dish look great

Just the right size for side dishes for 2-3 people. Topped with sweet boiled pumpkin and lots of lotus root and pork kinpira. It would also be delicious as a salad bowl for one or two people, with lettuce, radishes, and red and yellow tomatoes. For a solo lunch, add mapo tofu over rice like you would at a Chinese restaurant! As Mizuki says, it can be used in a wide variety of ways, from stews to rice bowls.

Things you should know before purchasing

What creates the expression of a pottery are spots, scratches, unevenness in the glaze, shading, and bending of the shape that cannot be seen in mass-produced products. The charm of handmade pottery is that it may have pinholes, intrusions, distortions, etc., and is not perfectly arranged, but each one is slightly different in color, size, and shape, and no two are exactly the same. Please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime encounter as these are the unique characteristics of handmade pottery. 【Individual difference】 Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, and thickness. [Uneven color/uneven baking] Since the glaze is applied one by one by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. During firing, the temperature varies depending on the location of the kiln, resulting in uneven firing. [Other notes] 〇 Bookmarks created during the production process may be visible. 〇Products that have passed inspection by the pottery and artist are inspected again and delivered to the customer. ■For more information, please see here. Furuya Pottery Koichi Furuya

Born in 1979 in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture 2004 Started making pottery at Furuya Pottery Special ``powdered white utensils'' We work hard every day to create ``powdered white utensils'' that bring out the elegance and warmth of any dish. We are also particular about the soil we use, and use our own unique soil for potter's wheel and tatara molding. The dough is molded from red clay, coated with white mud, glazed and fired. To make it comfortable to use and microwave safe, it is not coated with any chemicals or liquid ceramics after firing. Instead, by repeating the firing process called ``honyaki'' twice, the product is made more durable and of a quality that can be used safely in daily life. Thoughts on vessels "The most important time in daily life" It's a time when families gather together to eat dinner and relax while drinking tea or coffee. In order to make that time more fulfilling, we strive to create pottery that can gently be a part of people's lives. “Powdered White” is a white with a gentle expression. It's a simple white that complements any dish and can be used every day. In addition, the gentle, rustic earthiness that appears beneath the surface of the pottery gives it a great depth of pottery. We would be most happy if you could use and enjoy the warmth of our Japanese tableware in your daily life.
