Cooking rice in an earthenware pot that does not require heating

An Iga-yaki earthenware pot that allows you to easily enjoy delicious rice. “I want to make Japanese rice even more delicious and create an earthenware pot that anyone can use to easily cook rice.” With this in mind, Kamado-san was created after a 10-year development period. It's very easy to make, just cook for about 13 minutes over medium-high heat and steam for 20 minutes. The thick shape made of Iga clay, which has a high heat retention property, stores heat well and transmits it gently, so you can cook without having to worry about adjusting the heat. These clay pots are unique to Hasenen, a company that has always valued product development from the customer's perspective.

Eat fluffy rice

The 3-cup clay pot is the perfect size for a table of 3 to 4 people. It's perfect for making cooked rice or cooking a large amount for lunch boxes and freezing it. Since it uses a glaze with high far-infrared rays, heat penetrates to the core of the rice, resulting in fluffy rice. The good thing about this is that the clay pot breathes like a wooden ohitsu, so the rice doesn't get sticky. It's also great for stews, so try it in a variety of dishes.

Handling precautions
・When heating, make sure there is no water on the back side (this may cause cracks).
・Cannot be used for deep-frying.
・Do not immerse a hot clay pot in water or place it in a cold place (it may break).
・Do not let the clay pot slide on the table (it may damage the furniture). Also, the clay pot is hot right after cooking, so there is a risk of burning the table. Please handle with care, such as using a highly insulated floorboard.
・Please be careful not to get burned.
- If you use a burner with a sensor, the sensor will work and the flame will go out, so please use a function such as "sensor release".
・There may be small cracks (penetrations) on the surface of the clay pot, but this will not affect its use.
・Please do not use the automatic rice cooking function on a gas stove.
・If you have a three-burner stove, please do not use the rear stove as it does not have enough heat.
・As it is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, size, thickness, etc.
・Prices may be reviewed or revised depending on the artist or pottery.
It comes with a Miyajima rice scoop made of natural wood and a booklet with detailed instructions on how to cook rice and recipes.

Things you should know before purchasing

What creates the expression of a pottery are spots, scratches, unevenness in the glaze, shading, and bending of the shape that cannot be seen in mass-produced products. The charm of handmade pottery is that it may have pinholes, intrusions, distortions, etc., and is not perfectly arranged, but each one is slightly different in color, size, and shape, and no two are exactly the same. Please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime encounter as these are the unique characteristics of handmade pottery. 【Individual difference】 Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, and thickness. [Uneven color/uneven baking] The glaze is carefully applied one by one by hand, so the glaze may not be applied evenly. During firing, the temperature varies depending on the location of the kiln, resulting in uneven firing. [Other notes] 〇Products that have passed inspection by the pottery and artist are inspected again and delivered to the customer. ■For more information, please see here. Haseen

In 1832, a kiln was opened in Marubashira, Iga City, Mie Prefecture. Ever since we opened our kiln, we have inherited the tradition and techniques of Iga ware, and have created numerous earthenware pots and folk utensils that make use of Iga's coarse clay. Based on the spirit of ``The creator must be the true user,'' while experiencing the lifestyle that evolves with civilization. We are always dedicated to manufacturing products that keep an eye on the times.

Iga ware

Iga ware is a type of ceramic made around Iga City, Mie Prefecture. The soil used is produced from the Old Biwa Lake layer and has a very high fire resistance. Because it is also excellent at storing heat, it is widely used in the production of earthenware pots and heat-resistant tableware. Earthenware pots made from Iga clay, which has a high heat retention capacity, do not cool down easily even after being removed from the heat, allowing the ingredients to cook thoroughly, resulting in delicious dishes.
