As the name suggests, it has a skin-like appearance that wraps around chestnuts, making you feel warm. With its mature and dignified expression, it will add a touch of elegance to your dining table.

As a side dish or serving dish

The perfect size for serving side dishes for one person, such as kinpira burdock and boiled taro. The edges are gently raised, so it's perfect for slightly juicy dishes. At tea time, take a break with baked goods such as scones and cookies. For dinner, add a little dashi-maki egg and drizzle with soy sauce. Small plates that are easy to grab and use from morning to night are useful no matter how many you have. You can also stack them, so it's a good idea to have one for your family and for guests.

Arita ware

Arita ware is porcelain manufactured in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, and its surrounding areas. It is said to be the first porcelain made in Japan, and has been widely used as tableware and crafts for over 400 years. Arita ware has a strong image of transparent white porcelain and decoration, but there are also many vessels that use brightly colored glazes, giving a rich variety of colors to your dining table.

What you need to know before purchasing

The appearance of vessels is created by spots, blurs, unevenness of glaze, shading, and deflection of shape, which cannot be found in mass-produced vessels. The charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that no two vessels are exactly alike, with pinholes, penetrations, distortions, and the like, and that the colors, size, and shape of each piece vary slightly from one to another. The coloring, size, and shape of each piece is slightly different, and the charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that they are not exactly the same. Individual differences
The finish is relatively uniform, but because it is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, color, and so on. Uneven color/uneven firing
Because the glaze is applied by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. The firing process is also uneven because the temperature varies depending on the firing location in the kiln. Other Notes
Some pieces have engraving on the reverse side of the piece, while others do not. Please note that we are unable to make any specifications. Please note that we are not able to specify which side has the engraving on it. Please click here for more details. Characteristics of Utsuwa and what you need to understand when purchasing
