Simple appearance

This is a shallow bowl made of flour that gives you the warmth of the earth. The sharp silhouette from the edge to the height is impressive. By applying white mud to the base, adding color, and then applying glaze, it creates a unique texture with a subtle gray tinge. The black spots that appear and disappear here and there are charming. The texture makes it easy to match with other pottery, making it fun to think about table coordination. The warm and gentle white is not overpowering and will blend gently into your daily dining table.

Main dish at the table

Slow-cooked pork cubes served with bok choy. You can also serve it with lots of fried chicken or boiled taro. The perfect size for a side dish or salad for 1 to 2 people. At lunchtime, why not try fried rice or Chinese rice bowl topped with gooey bean paste? You can also stack them, so it's a good idea to have one for your family and for guests. This is an excellent container that can be used in a variety of situations in everyday life.

Recommended maintenance by the pottery ・Konahiki is water absorbent and tends to leave stains Due to its nature, we recommend that you seal it before use. Most water stains disappear when dry, but if used without sealing, oil stains and stains from dark colors such as soy sauce and coffee tend to remain.
・If you soak it in water for a while before use, it will prevent stains from getting in.
・After using the container, wash it as soon as possible, dry it thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Insufficient drying may cause mold and odors.
- For stains such as tea stains, please use commercially available bleach and rinse thoroughly.

About the style and atmosphere

It has a simple design that you will never get tired of, and an atmosphere that is not overpowering and blends naturally into your everyday dining table. There are some cracks and lines as shown in the photo, but these are one of the characteristics of earthenware. Also, there may be some areas on the back that are not glazed. Differences in color, uneven color, and sagging that occur by chance during firing and hand-molding are the unique charms of handmade products. Because konohiki is water-absorbent and tends to leave stains, we recommend that you seal it before use. Most water stains disappear when dry, but if used without sealing, oil stains and stains from dark colors such as soy sauce and coffee tend to remain. One of the charms of powdered fabrics is that they tend to change with daily use. Please enjoy the expressions at that time and make it your own. ■You can also view Shigaraki pottery here. Shigaraki ware

This ceramic is produced around Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture, and is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan. The rustic texture of the earth is appealing, making full use of the richness of nature. Because they use strong china clay, they are good at making large pottery like raccoon dog ornaments.

What you need to know before purchasing

The appearance of items is created by spots, blurs, unevenness of glaze, shading, and deflection of shape, which cannot be found in mass-produced items.
The charm of handmade items lies in the fact that no two items are exactly alike, with pinholes, penetrations, distortions, and the like, and that the colors, size, and shape of each piece vary slightly from one to another.
The coloring, size, and shape of each piece is slightly different, and the charm of handmade items lies in the fact that they are not exactly the same.
The finish is relatively uniform, but because it is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, color, and so on. Uneven color/uneven firing
Because the glaze is applied by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. The firing process is also uneven because the temperature varies depending on the firing location in the kiln. Other Notes
