Somewhere new, the craftsmanship shines through

A 6-inch plate with an impressive "Hakeme" pattern that has been around for a long time but has a somewhat modern feel. Contrary to its visual impact, it quickly becomes a supporting role when served with food! A fascinating hakeme pattern that mysteriously matches a wide range of cuisines such as Japanese, Western, Chinese, and ethnic. It has a moderate weight and sense of stability, is durable, and is easy to use, so it will become an indispensable part of your daily dining table. [A] has a snake's eye pattern on the prospective part, and [B] has no snake's eye pattern. The snake's eye pattern is a "ring" that can be seen on the prospective part. The traditional climbing kilns are used to fire pottery, which has patterns like this because they are fired in layers. Please enjoy this as a unique expression that can only be achieved by hand.

Excellent food for all types of cooking

The versatile 6-inch plate is a size that is often used throughout the day. Japanese-style pancake breakfast with whipped cream and azuki beans. Chinese stir-fried vegetables with plump shrimp as a side dish for lunch. For dinner, you can spread out shiso leaves and top with steamed chicken salad. The edges are slightly raised, so you can safely use it even if it's a little juicy. It's easy to pick up and can be stacked, so it's a good idea to have multiple pieces available as serving plates.

Ontayaki

The history of Ontayaki began about 300 years ago. This tradition has continued unbroken in this quiet village in Hita City, Oita Prefecture. There are currently only 10 potteries that have inherited the same flow from when the kilns first opened. Techniques unique to Ontayaki, such as hakeme, tobikanna, and comb painting, have been carefully passed down from parent to child. The modern and interesting geometric patterns have a mysterious charm that matches any cuisine.

What you need to know before purchasing

The appearance of vessels is created by spots, blurs, unevenness of glaze, shading, and deflection of shape, which cannot be found in mass-produced vessels. The charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that no two vessels are exactly alike, with pinholes, penetrations, distortions, and the like, and that the colors, size, and shape of each piece vary slightly from one to another. The coloring, size, and shape of each piece is slightly different, and the charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that they are not exactly the same. Individual differences
The finish is relatively uniform, but because it is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, color, and so on. Uneven color/uneven firing
Because the glaze is applied by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. The firing process is also uneven because the temperature varies depending on the firing location in the kiln. Other Notes
Some pieces have engraving on the reverse side of the piece, while others do not. Please note that we are unable to make any specifications.
