The chestnut wood used has a subdued color that can be described as "gray-white." Compared to cherry wood, the bark is slightly rougher, giving it a rustic, woody feel. It has a smooth, comfortable texture that won't catch on your fingers.

Solid wood is often thought to be difficult to maintain, but that's not actually the case. Simply brush off small bits of bread or pastry crumbs, and if you notice any dirt, wipe with a tightly wrung-out cloth or rinse with water. If you notice your wood starting to dry out, treating it with oil will bring out a nice shine and bring out the wood grain.

When washing with water, avoid using detergent. ・If the product becomes whitish and flaky, apply vegetable oil to a paper towel or cloth. (Walnut oil, safflower oil, perilla oil, etc. Olive oil does not dry.) If the flaky texture persists, polish it with 320-grit sandpaper and apply the oil. ・The color will develop a beautiful finish with care and use. |

If something wet is left inside, it will stain within 15 minutes. ・UV rays can cause discoloration, deterioration, and deformation, so please store the product out of direct sunlight. ・Please note that the edges are prone to chipping. ・Prices may be revised or adjusted depending on the artist or potter. |

Aizawa Wood Crafts/KITO
Founded in 1947 in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, as a woodcarver specializing in lacquerware base materials.
2013: Started manufacturing and selling original wooden products.
