It is made using natural Akebi vines harvested in Aomori, and is made by splitting the long slender vines into two lengthwise, and is woven using a weaving method called ``hora-ami''. It is characterized by beautiful stitches, 【A】 is a thick single vine, 【B】 is woven with two thin vines. The calm colors make you want to use it over and over again, regardless of the season. Akebi baskets are extremely durable and can be used for a long time, and the more you use them, the deeper the color will become and the more glossy they will become. About the style and atmosphere

We asked Miyamoto Crafts, a long-established company founded in 1919, to do the entire process by hand, without relying on machines. After harvesting the valuable akebi vines, which are being harvested in decreasing quantities each year, they are dried in the sun for about a week, then soaked in water for several days before being woven.
