This time, we will be focusing on "Hasami ware" which is rapidly gaining popularity among the younger generation. We'll introduce you to some recommended spots you'll want to visit when you're there.
Also, the Uchiru editorial department actually went on a pottery tour in Hasami, so if you are interested, please read this article as well.
Hasami ware was born in Hasami Town, Higashisonogi District, Nagasaki Prefecture, the only town in the prefecture that does not have a sea and is surrounded by lush green mountains.
By car, it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Fukuoka city and about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Nagasaki city. About 10 minutes by taxi from JR Arita Station.
To the west is Sasebo, to the east are Takeo and Ureshino in Saga Prefecture, which are famous for their hot springs, and to the east is Arita, which is well-known for pottery lovers, so we recommend visiting them at the same time.
