A nostalgic container

A soba choko with a gorgeous red pattern gives it an elegant atmosphere. One of the charms of Arita ware is its transparent, slightly bluish white color and smooth texture. The modern Japanese designs are carefully drawn one by one using the traditional technique of ``sometsuke'' over the glaze. Small leaves surround a round motif, overflowing with a relaxed loveliness.

Small but hardworking

With its wide mouth and body, it feels like it can be used for multiple purposes. Add mentsuyu to accompany somen, soba, and udon. It's also nice to pour your favorite coffee and take a coffee break. It's also great as a side dish cup to accompany one-plate rice, such as salad or marinated tomatoes. You can also use it as a fruit cup by filling it with yogurt or fruit. You can also stack them, so you'll want to have one for your family and for guests.

Product characteristics/
Handling precautions
・As it is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, size, thickness, etc.
・Since the painting and glazing work is done by hand, there may be slight differences in the pattern, color shading, glaze color, and application method.
・Since the soil contains a lot of iron, there may be small light brown or black dots on the surface of the pot, but this does not cause any problem in use.
・Recommended for those who want to enjoy the warm texture that is unique to handmade products, each with a different look.
・Since it does not absorb water, it is difficult to get stains, mold, etc., and is easy to handle.
・Depending on the number of years of use, small scratches from forks and knives may become noticeable (especially since olive glaze is soft).
・Prices may be reviewed or revised depending on the artist or pottery.

About the style and atmosphere

Although it has a Japanese-style appearance, the clean design gives it a somewhat modern impression. Porcelain is durable and easy to handle, and its light weight and thickness make it easy to use on a daily basis. I also like that it can be used in the microwave and dishwasher. It is a pottery that naturally fits modern lifestyles while retaining its traditional charm. ■You can also view the pottery made by Koyogama here. Koyogama list page a> ■Others, list page. Hoyang Kiln

1947 Started a kiln in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture Mainly produces sake vessels, and later produces general tableware. 2003: Changed the name of the kiln to Koyo Kiln. Currently 3rd generation (Yosuke Maeda) We manufacture a wide range of household tableware with simple and soft forms, from indigo-dyed to red-painted and glazed vessels. We value traditional Arita techniques and aim to create pottery that fits modern lifestyles and that both creators and users can relate to. ``I want the younger generation to use Arita ware as well.'' Arita ware, which used to be used for special occasions, can now be used on a daily basis. This idea is reflected in the price range and design.

Arita ware

Arita ware is porcelain manufactured in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, and its surrounding areas. It is said to be the first porcelain made in Japan, and has been widely used as tableware and crafts for over 400 years. Arita ware has a strong image of transparent white porcelain and decoration, but there are also many vessels that use brightly colored glazes, giving a rich variety of colors to your dining table.

What you need to know before purchasing

The appearance of vessels is created by spots, blurs, unevenness of glaze, shading, and deflection of shape, which cannot be found in mass-produced vessels. The charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that no two vessels are exactly alike, with pinholes, penetrations, distortions, and the like, and that the colors, size, and shape of each piece vary slightly from one to another. The coloring, size, and shape of each piece is slightly different, and the charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that they are not exactly the same. Individual differences
The finish is relatively uniform, but because it is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, color, and so on. Uneven color/uneven firing
Because the glaze is applied by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. The firing process is also uneven because the temperature varies depending on the firing location in the kiln. Other Notes
Some pieces have engraving on the reverse side of the piece, while others do not. Please note that we are unable to make any specifications. Please note that we are not able to specify which side has the engraving on it. Please click here for more details. Characteristics of Utsuwa and what you need to understand when purchasing
