Traditional arts in modern life

The shape is based on the motif of a quince, one of the auspicious crests, and the carefully drawn lines around the edges. A small bowl that exudes the warmth and sure craftsmanship of handicrafts. Each border line is carefully drawn using a traditional technique called ``sometsuke.'' Although it is detailed, it has a gentle expression that can only be achieved by handiwork. One of the charms of Arita ware is its transparent, slightly bluish white color and smooth, smooth texture.

For side dishes and fruits

Serve with pickled cucumber and wakame seaweed. Also great for pickled vegetables and kimchi. You can make a great side dish just by adding a little stock or leftover side dishes. It has a deep depth, so you can also use it to cook dishes with a lot of juice, such as boiled dishes and dipping sauces. It would also be cute to add small fruits such as strawberries or grapes. I feel that even the usual simple dishes can be made into a slightly higher quality atmosphere.

Recommended maintenance by the pottery ・For overpainted products, avoid using the dishwasher and wash them by hand with a soft cloth or sponge. Doing so may cause red, gold, or silver paint to peel off or darken.
・After using the utensils, wash them as soon as possible and dry them thoroughly. Insufficient drying may cause mold and odors.
Product characteristics/
Handling precautions
・As it is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, size, thickness, etc.
・Since the painting and glazing work is done by hand, there may be slight differences in the pattern, color shading, glaze color, and application method.
・Since the soil contains a lot of iron, there may be small light brown or black dots on the surface of the pot, but this does not cause any problem in use.
・Recommended for those who want to enjoy the warm texture that is unique to handmade products, each with a different look.
・Since it does not absorb water, it is difficult to get stains, mold, etc., and is easy to handle.
・Depending on the age of use, small scratches from forks and knives may become noticeable (especially since olive glaze is soft).
・Prices may be reviewed or revised depending on the artist or pottery.

What you need to know before purchasing

The appearance of vessels is created by spots, blurs, unevenness of glaze, shading, and deflection of shape, which cannot be found in mass-produced vessels. The charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that no two vessels are exactly alike, with pinholes, penetrations, distortions, and the like, and that the colors, size, and shape of each piece vary slightly from one to another. The coloring, size, and shape of each piece is slightly different, and the charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that they are not exactly the same. Individual differences
The finish is relatively uniform, but because it is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, color, and so on. Uneven color/uneven firing
Because the glaze is applied by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. The firing process is also uneven because the temperature varies depending on the firing location in the kiln. Other Notes
Some pieces have engraving on the reverse side of the piece, while others do not. Please note that we are unable to make any specifications. Please note that we are not able to specify which side has the engraving on it. Please click here for more details. Characteristics of Utsuwa and what you need to understand when purchasing
