Double the taste due to residual heat

This is an Igayaki miso soup pot with a distinctive round shape. The thick, rounded shape stores heat well, increasing the effectiveness of residual heat after the fire is turned off. The flavor soaks in slowly and creates a gentle taste. Not only can it be used for hotpot dishes such as miso soup, but it can also be used for baking and stir-frying. It makes standard home-cooked meals taste so much better, so it's great for everyday cooking.

A variety of miso soup pots

The large size is perfect for a table of 3 to 4 people. When cooking rice, you can cook up to 3 cups. Stir-fry pork, carrots, burdock root, etc., then add dashi stock and tofu to create pork soup with plenty of toppings. The back of the clay pot is coated with radium ore that generates negative ions, allowing the flavor to penetrate to the core and softening the salt content.

Handling precautions
・When heating, make sure there is no water on the back side (this may cause cracks).
・Cannot be used for deep-frying.
・Do not immerse a hot clay pot in water or place it in a cold place (it may break).
・Do not let the clay pot slide on the table (it may damage the furniture). Also, the clay pot is hot right after cooking, so there is a risk of burning the table. Please handle with care, such as using a highly insulated floorboard.
・Please be careful not to get burned.
・Do not freeze the clay pot (it may break).
・There may be small cracks (penetrations) on the surface of the clay pot, but this will not affect its use.
・Since earthenware pots have water absorption properties, if you keep something with liquid in it for a long time, it may ooze out.
・When cooking with commercial high-calorie gas appliances, please use low to medium heat.
・Since clay pots have a far-infrared effect, gas appliances and tables will become hot if used over high heat for a long time. Especially when cooking over open fires, do not keep the heat on high and be careful of the heat.
・As it is handmade, there may be individual differences in color, shape, size, thickness, etc.
・Prices may be reviewed or revised depending on the artist or pottery.
A booklet with detailed instructions and recipes is also included.

Things you should know before purchasing

What creates the expression of a pottery are spots, scratches, unevenness in the glaze, shading, and bending of the shape that cannot be seen in mass-produced products. The charm of handmade pottery is that it may have pinholes, intrusions, distortions, etc., and is not perfectly arranged, but each one is slightly different in color, size, and shape, and no two are exactly the same. Please enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime encounter as these are the unique characteristics of handmade pottery. 【Individual difference】 Because each piece is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, and thickness. [Uneven color/uneven baking] The glaze is carefully applied one by one by hand, so the glaze may not be applied evenly. During firing, the temperature varies depending on the location of the kiln, resulting in uneven firing. [Other notes] 〇Products that have passed inspection by the pottery and artist are inspected again and delivered to the customer. ■For more information, please see here. Haseen

In 1832, a kiln was opened in Marubashira, Iga City, Mie Prefecture. Ever since we opened our kiln, we have inherited the tradition and techniques of Iga ware, and have created numerous earthenware pots and folk utensils that make use of Iga's coarse clay. Based on the spirit of ``The creator must be the true user,'' while experiencing the lifestyle that evolves with civilization. We are always dedicated to manufacturing products that keep an eye on the times.

Iga ware

Iga ware is a type of ceramic made around Iga City, Mie Prefecture. The soil used is produced from the Old Biwa Lake layer and has a very high fire resistance. Because it is also excellent at storing heat, it is widely used in the production of earthenware pots and heat-resistant tableware. Earthenware pots made from Iga clay, which has a high heat retention capacity, do not cool down easily even after being removed from the heat, allowing the ingredients to cook thoroughly, resulting in delicious dishes.

What you need to know before purchasing

The appearance of vessels is created by spots, blurs, unevenness of glaze, shading, and deflection of shape, which cannot be found in mass-produced vessels. The charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that no two vessels are exactly alike, with pinholes, penetrations, distortions, and the like, and that the colors, size, and shape of each piece vary slightly from one to another. The coloring, size, and shape of each piece is slightly different, and the charm of handmade vessels lies in the fact that they are not exactly the same. Individual differences
The finish is relatively uniform, but because it is handmade, there are individual differences in shape, size, color, and so on. Uneven color/uneven firing
Because the glaze is applied by hand, the glaze may not be applied evenly. The firing process is also uneven because the temperature varies depending on the firing location in the kiln. Other Notes
