To Hasami Town, the town of pottery

What kind of place is Hasami?

Hasami ware was born in Hasami Town, Higashisonogi District, Nagasaki Prefecture, the only town in the prefecture that does not have a sea and is surrounded by lush green mountains.

By car, it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Fukuoka city and about 1 hour and 10 minutes from Nagasaki city. About 10 minutes by taxi from JR Arita Station.

To the west is Sasebo, to the east are Takeo and Ureshino in Saga Prefecture, which are famous for their hot springs, and to the east is Arita, which is well-known for pottery lovers, so we recommend visiting them at the same time.

The Sakura Pottery Festival is held in April every year, and the Autumn Ceramic Tour is held in late October, with direct sales and walk rallies, so if you visit during those times, you can have a closer look at the makers than usual. You might also enjoy interacting with them.

Normal stores tend to have a similar lineup, so if you want to see more products from your favorite brand or discover a pottery that you like, we recommend visiting the local store. .

It is a unique experience to be able to find rare items such as leftover items that are no longer available due to production discontinuation and limited edition colors, as well as discounts and outlet items that can only be purchased at directly managed stores.

Hasami Town has a laid-back atmosphere that you won't find in the city, and wide blue skies that will make you want to take a deep breath.

It is more convenient to have a car to go on a pottery tour, but if this is difficult, you can use shared taxis or excursion sightseeing taxis.

If you want to go there someday, but want to bring some wonderful Hasami ware home right away, please take a look at this as well.
